Topdressing the turf surface with fine, good draining sand or loam helps to control thatch build-up in the turf. The turf loves to have a new medium to grow in. You will immediately notice a rich healthy colour, and the field or playing surface will be a lot more level as a result of filling in the divets. Maccas have small top-dressing units right up to the 2 cubic metre large area model pictured in action above, and have access to small or large quantities of sand or loam at the right price to you.

Fertilising is not to be overlooked when it comes to renovation or preparation of your turf. While agricultural type fertilizers have a place in the turf industry, the slow release turf fertilizers last much longer and are naturally designed to improve the root zone of the turf. Most of the standard fertilisers only last for a few weeks whereas the slow release types last for 1 or 24 weeks. Some are also available with herbicides already built in to help snuff out weeds after your renovation. Maccas can supply all types of fertilizers for all types of turf at very competitive rates. Soil analysis can also be carried out.

Chemical Spraying is a subject many people are very wary of, however at Maccas we use only herbicides and insecticides that have been registered for use on turf (i.e. nothing designed specifically for agricultural use). All the products that we use are also of the latest manufacture and are totally environmentally safe. Brian McAtee has an Unrestricted Commercial Spray License and is also the holder of a Spray Safe Certificate.
